Profile
A FAMILY TRADITION
The Williams family rock lobster business began in the South East of South Australia in the early 1900’s, and encompassed both fishing and sales. In these times, the daily lobster catch was cooked and sold regularly in the local region. In the 1940’s reliable transportation to Melbourne made interstate distribution of live southern rock lobsters possible for the first time.
The family enterprise now spans over five generations of Williams family members and has expanded into lobster, giant crab and abalone fisheries in Victoria, Tasmania and USA.
SOUTHERN ROCK LOBSTER
Live exports of wild-caught Southern Rock Lobster began in 1996 from the family’s purpose built, EU accredited and A-rated live export facility, located in the fishing village of Port Mac Donnell, SA. The export business has recently celebrated 20 successful years of Live Southern Rock Lobster exports.
